About Manchester

Manchester is a major city in the northwest of England with a rich industrial heritage. We are so excited to be able to bring BSH 2022 to this incredible city.

Travel to Manchester
by road, train and air

If you are travelling by road, Manchester Central is easily accessed via the M60 orbital motorway, use the postcode M2 3GX in your satellite navigation system to direct you to the National Car Park on-site.

Manchester is just over a 2-hour trip from London by train and shares direct connections with most UK cities. Manchester Central is a 20-minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly Station, or 5 minutes by taxi. Alternatively, you can catch a connecting train to Oxford Road Station which is 5 minutes from Manchester Central, on foot. Further information on train travel can be found at: www.nationalrail.co.uk

By air, Manchester Airport is just 9 miles from the city centre, serving plenty of international airlines. From here, you can get a taxi to the city centre, or opt for the express rail service which arrives every 30 minutes and takes only 20 minutes to get into the city. Further information on Manchester airport can be found at: www.manchesterairport.co.uk.

What else can you do
during your stay

Whilst in the city, why not take the time to enjoy the local culture and what the city has to offer? Here are some of our top picks:

  1. The Manchester Art Gallery is just a short walk from Manchester Central and houses some of the UK’s finest pieces and plays host to major touring exhibitions.
  2. Manchester is home to some of the UK’s most famous bands: The Smiths, Oasis, Joy Division, New Order and Take That all call Manchester home. Why not try and catch some live music whilst you’re in the city? Manchester is home to the AO Arena, Albert Hall, and the Hope Mill Theatre for our more theatrically inclined guests.
  3. Manchester also has a huge range of bars and restaurants. Manchester has an incredibly varied number of cuisines on offer, so a trip to Chinatown is highly recommended during your stay. You can usually find live entertainment wherever you go in the city.
