Risk Assessments

All Companies who are building their own stands, including pop-up stands, are required by the EICC to submit a full risk assessment and method statement.

The link below is intended to provide some guidance as to what should be included in a risk assessment. The BSH has also produced a risk assessment form for its Exhibitors to use as a template if they have not undertaken risk assessment before. It is based on the HSE ‘5 steps to risk assessment’ model. BSH Conferences Ltd does not take responsibility for its content or suitability for your organisation.

The form can be downloaded and used by you, provided that you check that it is correct and applicable to your business and you take ownership of it by completing section 1 and modifying  (as appropriate) section 2 to suit your arrangements and staff.

You should use this as a minimum standard and add to it as required (especially column 4) after considering who is working for you and consulting with your staff and contractors.

Once you have completed the assessment you should return a copy to the BSH Conference Secretariat and keep a copy to show your staff. If you add details it may be appropriate to have a copy on the stand.

Remember that it is your risk assessment – you should keep it up to date and amend it if it is appropriate.

Risk assessments should be submitted to the BSH Conference Secretariat by Friday 19th March 2010.
